摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable laser beam welding without causing drooping weld bead causing the lowering of joining strength, when the laser-beam-welding a lap joint constituted of aluminum planar members is welded, with penetration reaching from the surface of the upper member to the inside of the lower member, so that the corner formed with the end face extending in the welding direction of the lower member and the rear side of the upper member may be melted to form a weld bead in this corner. SOLUTION: An outwardly slanting notch 2a with a triangular cross section is formed along one upper edge of the lower member 2; a position on the surface of the upper member 1 corresponding to the position of the width Wb of this notch 2a is set as a position for the irradiation of a laser beam L; while a filler material is supplied, welding is performed with the surface of the upper member 1 irradiated by the laser beam L along the notch 2a extending in the welding direction. In addition, the dimension of the outward slanting notch is made as 0.1 <= notch depth Wa <= 1.0mm and 0.5 <= notch width Wb <=1.5mm.
