PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency for video tape entering/leaving and storing management work and to prevent erroneous retrieving in a video rental shop. SOLUTION: A shelf management system includes a shelf 7 composed of a plurality of zones for storing video tapes, a storing means 15 for storing a shelf data table including the entering/leaving of video tapes in the zones regarding shelf zone numbers and a code number corresponding to a video tape to be entered/left, a reading means 11 for reading a code attached to a video tape or the case of the video tape and converting this code into an electric signal and a light emitting means 18 installed for each shelf zone. By instructing the light emitting means 18 of the video tape entering/leaving zone to emit a light, a storing spot for the video tape is easily known. |
