<p>A two position pneumatic actuator allows remote operation of door locks for heavy road vehicle systems. Operation of the lock mechanism requires a linear motion (22) of an actuator bar (21). The bar is pivotted at one end on a lever (18) with a centre pin support (19) that is located on a base plate (20). Movement of the lever is provided by two single acting pneumatic cylinders (10, 11) mounted on a projection of the base plate. An extension of either cylinder is provided by air supplied (8, 9) from a control valve within the driver's cab. Return action is provided by internal springs.</p> |
