<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferrous scrap melting method excellent in heat efficiency at the time of obtaining molten iron by melting the ferrous scrap with an electric furnace. SOLUTION: In the method for obtaining the molten iron by using the electric furnace 1 and melting the ferrous scrap under condition of existence of molten slag, the lower end of an electrode 2 in the electric furnace is dipped into the molten slag 7, and further, carbonaceous material as heat conductive medium is supplied together with gas from a blowing hole 5 whose tip part positions only in the molten slag layer. The existing quantity of the carbonaceous material in the molten slag is kept in the range of 50-200kg/ton of molten slag.</p> |
