<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a locking rod from being moved to an unlock position by illegal unlocking operations. SOLUTION: This steering lock device has a key cylinder 16, disposed in such a way as to be movable in the direction of its axis within a casing 11 and rotatably enclosed inside a housing case 12 energized outward by a housing spring, and a rotor that is engaged with the key cylinder 16. The rotor comprises a hanger, having a flange part 43 and a cam 44 and moved up and down by the cam 44, a locking rod 18 that is engaged with the hanger, and a pin 56 that locks the hanger. When the key is rotated from a lock position to an unlock position, the pin 56 is locked with the edge of the rotor, and the hanger and the locking rod are held in unlock positions. When the key is removed from the key cylinder 16, the pin 56 is disconnected from the edge of the rotor as the key cylinder 16 and the rotor move in the direction of their axes, the hanger and the locking rod 18 move to the lock positions, and locking of the pin to the edge of the rod, even with external impact, etc., is prevented.</p> |
