RECORDING MATERIAL FOR INK JET PRINTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet print recording material which has high color density, excellent scum preventive properties and high ink absorbing capacity with a simple structure by providing an ink receiving layer containing carbonyl group modified gelatin having a specific amount of the residue of a free amino group and pigment of a support. SOLUTION: An ink receiving layer containing carbonyl group modified gelatin having 50mol% or less of the residue of a free amino group and a pigment is provided on a support to form an ink jet print recording material. The suitable gelatin includes modified malice anhydride or phthalic anhydride so that the residue of the free amino group in the gelatin is necessarily 50mol% or less and the content is suitably 2 to 30mol% or more preferably 2 to 20mol%. The mixing amount of the gelatin is suitably 95 to 30wt.% or more preferably 90 to 70wt.% with the solid content of the layer as a reference. The gelatin is particularly suitable with the gelatin of acid digested pig's skin.
