PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically determine a shift in the print position with high reliability by using ink color data printed initially as master data, based on one of the color imaging signals from a highlighted print part for detecting a shift in the print position, and comparing data on each of checked ink colors to master data. SOLUTION: A color imaging signal for a print registering mark imaged by a color television camera 28 is normalized by a gain correction circuit 41, so that a distinguishing process is performed for decomposition per ink color using a color conversion circuit in a print registration evaluation device 51. The ink color data is stored in master memory 53. This ink color data is temporarily stored in YMCK memory 54 at the time of checking, and data stored in these memory units 53, 54 is supplied to a comparison/calculation circuit 55. Then the shift size of the print position obtained from this circuit 55 is supplied as a registration evaluation signal to a color still image display device 37, and this color still image is displayed in a color TV set 40 for monitoring. Finally the shift in the print position is adjusted by a print controller. |
