An evacuation arrangement (13) for evacuation of persons from a ship, comprising an elongate bridge construction (14), which is adjustable from a horizontal starting position to a use position, in which it extends obliquely outwards and downwards towards the surface (160) of the sea. The inner end of the bridge construction (140) is pivotally mounted about a horizontal axis on a platform (15), which is pivotally mounted about a vertical axis (15a) on the deck (12) of the ship. The bridge construction (14) carries a raft (24) pivotally mounted via a joint connection (21, 21a, 23). The bridge construction (14) carries an endless, relatively free running conveyor (34), which is moved towards the raft (24) in a direction extending obliquely downwards by means of the weight loading from each individual passenger. The conveyor (34) carries holder-forming carrier arrangements (36) for each passenger on the conveyor (34). A hydraulic brake is adapted to regulate the speed of movement of the conveyor. |
