PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a preparation for external use for skin, consisting essentially of an extract from a plumule of a tree of Fagus crenata Blume, Fagus sylvatica L., etc., and effective in preventing the skin from aging due to the ability to activate the protein synthesis in a keratinocyte, thereby rejuvenate the skin and improve the humectant properties. SOLUTION: This preparation for external use for skin consists essentially of an extract from a plumule of a tree of Fagus crenata Blume, Fagus sylvatica L., etc., preferably in an amount of 0.2-20wt.%, practically 0.4-10wt.% therein. A cream, an ointment, a milky lotion, a gel or a liquid form is preferred as the dosage form. A physiologically active substance such as a phospholipid, vitamins, amino acids, arbutin, kojic acid, a placental extract, a blood serum albumin, hyaluronic acid or collagen as a secondary ingredient can be blended in the objective preparation for external use for the skin. |
