PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a filter material for an air filter which is improved in strength compared with conventional filter material, reduced in pressure drop and made high in capturing efficiency. SOLUTION: This filter material for air filter is constituted by sticking an org. binder, polyisocyanate compd. and a water repellent on a glass fiber and its PF value calculated from a formula is >=13. This filter material for the air filter, is produced by sticking the org. binder, the polyisocyanate compd. and the water repellent on wet paper made by a wet type sheet manufacturing method, and then dried. The objective grain size of the capturing efficiency is kept at 0.3μm.
