<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conquer weak points and unfavorable points appendant to the conventional device and method for printing a graphic product onto a sheet material with a thermal printing head. SOLUTION: By sending pulse laser beams 42 emitted from a laser source 32 or a pulse generator 44 in response to a printing program, a graphic image is printed on a sheet material S. The pulsed and focussed laser beam 42 is scanned with a scanning device 36 through a laser window assembly 38 along a collision line to an ink web W. The ink web W contains an ink monolayer and lies on the sheet material S on a roller platen 40. The laser window presses the ink web W against the roller platen 40 so as to engage the web with the sheet material S, resulting in allowing to easily migrate ink from the ink web W to the sheet material S.</p> |
