PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the vehicle speed range used at each shifting position, and to realize a stepped change gear operation of an easy manual change gear operation and a good handling convenience, by setting the gear ratioes of preset plural shifting position, into change gear ratio patterns varying according to the traveling conditions. SOLUTION: The respective change gear ratio patterns of the shifting positions are made to change to the upshift side as the rotation frequency of an input pulley is increased, in a low speed shifting position side, whole to change to the downshift side as the rotation frequency of an output pullet is increased. In a high shifting position side, the patterns are set in a map beforehand, to a fixed change gear ration setting part in a control unit 30. This setting part retrieves a change gear ratio pattern corresponding to the shifting position, and by the selected change gear ratio pattern, a fixed target change gear ratio is decided from input pleural signals. The decided signal is output to a target change gear ration converter, and a solenoid valve 18 is operated top make the deviation between the target pulley position corresponding to the change gear ratio, and the actual pullet position, zero. |
