PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refill ink which can be refilled into a reusable ink cartridge without forming bubbles and to provide a method for refilling the same into the cartridge. SOLUTION: This refilling ink comprises a combination of the first ink IX containing a surfactant or ethanol with the second ink IY based on a dye and freed from any surfactant; this ink refilling method comprises a first step of injecting the first ink IX into a porous material PR and a second step of injecting the second ink IY into the porous material PR; the ink refilling method comprises the first step of injecting an edible oil into the porous material PR so that the injected oil may cover the exposed surface of the porous material PR and the second step of injecting the second ink IY into the porous material; the ink refill method comprises the first step of injecting ethanol or an edible oil and the second step of pouring the second ink IY into the porous material PR; and the ink refilling method comprises the first step of determining the amount of the ink to be used in refilling according to the detected amount of the residual ink and the second step of refilling the first and second inks in a total amount equaling the amount of inks to be refilled are provided.
