<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method to calculate a thermal expansion quantity of a work roll to calculate a practical time in rolling and in high precision. SOLUTION: In the work roll used for hot rolling, an thermal expansion quantity of the work roll is calculated by combining the estimated value of an elastic deformation of the work roll resulting from the thermal stress due to temp. gradient in the roll radial direction near roll surface layer, which is produced when work roll and rolling stock are brought into contact in rolling, as the distribution at the roll axial position of a varying quantity of work roll diameter, is calculated with using a rolling condition, average temp. in the roll radial diection and the estimated value of the distribution in the roll axial direction of a varying quantity of work roll diameter due to thermal expansion neglecting thermal strss calculated from an average temp. in the roll radial direction.</p> |
