PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording method wherein a highly precise digital image having high durability and having sufficient printing resistance in application to a lithographic printing plate can be formed by a heat mode ablation process, and an image recording apparatus, an image recording medium and a medium to be subjected to recording which are used therefor. SOLUTION: In an image recording method wherein an image recording medium having an image layer on a substrate and a medium to be subjected to recording are put on top of each other and wherein light is cast in accordance with an image and the image is transferred by an ablation process from the image recording medium onto the medium to be subjected to recording, the image layer contains a reactive compound (radical polymerization compound, cationic polymerization compound, diazo compound, coupling agent or others) of which the adhesion to the medium to be subjected to recording is improved by heating, pressing or light irradiation, and after the image is transferred onto the medium to be subjected to recording, the adhesion of the image to this medium is enhanced by heating, pressing or light irradiation. |
