PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inject ink into an ink cartridge without introducing air by charging the ink cartridge in the ink container within a vacuum chamber to bring the vacuum chamber to an almost vacuum state and subsequently opening the vacuum chamber to the atmosphere. SOLUTION: An ink cartridge 1 is charged in the ink container 17 filled with ink arranged in a vacuum chamber 12. Next, an opening and closing valve 15 is brought to a closed state to close an atmosphere passage 16 and a vacuum pump 13 is operated in this state to bring the vacuum chamber 12 to an almost vacuum state. Whereupon, not only the air in the vacuum chamber 12 but also the air in the ink cartridge 1 are sucked out as air bubbles 19 through an ink supply hole and an atmosphere communication passage 16. Next, the opening and closing valve 15 is opened and the vacuum chamber 12 is opened to the atmosphere through the atmosphere passage 16 to gradually return the vacuum chamber to atmospheric pressure and, accompanied by this mechanism, ink is gradually injected into the ink cartridge 1. |
