PRODUCTION OF CYCLIC ALCOHOL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a cyclic alcohol, without reducing the decrease of activities of a catalyst used in a hydrating reaction of a cyclic olefin for a long period and capable of preventing the catalyst qualities such as separability of the catalyst from getting worse. SOLUTION: An organic additive which is a solid under 1 atm. at 25 deg.C is introduced into a reaction vessel in a molten or dissolved state in the method for producing a cyclic alcohol by a catalytic hydration of a cyclic olefin under the coexistence of an organic additive using a solid acid catalyst in a liquid phase.
