摘要

The present invention discloses benzenedicarboxylic acids diguanidines of formula I (See Formula) wherein R(1) to R(5) are as described in the claims; they are valuable anti-arrhythmic medicaments with a cardioprotective component, said compouns being also useful in preventing ischaemia induced lesions, particularly for preventing ischaemia induced heart arrhythmias. As a consequence of an inhibition of the cellular Na+/H+ interchange mechanism, they are used for the treatment of ischaemia induced severe or chronic lesions. Further, the compounds of the present invention are characterized in that they have a strong inhibiting effect over proliferation of cells. They are suitable to prevent blood hypertension genesis.
