A process for producing ghutra and yashmagh fabrics for plain and patterned Arab head dresses comprises using fabric featuring inlaid selvedges (1), each equipped with a finishing warp strip (3) between the selvedge (1) and the fabric. The pick ends are bound into the warp strip (3), which, as a consequence, has a greater warp end density than the selvedge (3) and the fabric. The strip (3) is produced in twill or satin weave and covers the pick ends.
