LINE SAFETY SWITCH.

In a line safety switch with a break section (6, 41) equipped with a bimetallic release device and a magnetic release device (4), a switch latch (1) with a switching toggle (15) is associated to a swivelling switching bridge (2). The switching bridge (2) may be swivelled by means of the switching toggle (15) out of an OFF position apart from the fixed contacts (6) into an ON position in which it lies on the fixed contacts (6). The switching toggle (15) is coupled to the movable switching bridge (31) by an articulated joint which consists of a hoop (30) and a bracket (31). The leg of the hoop (30) linked to the bracket (31) is guided in a slotted guiding part (50, 51) whereas the other leg of the hoop (39) is joined to the switching toggle (15) in an articulated manner. The guiding slot (50) is provided in a ratchet (51) swivellingly mounted in the switch latch (1). The ratchet (51) can snap into a ratchet support (50) with its end (51') opposite to the swivelling point (24). The ratchet support (60) which is associated to the bimetallic release device (5) and to the magnetic release device (4), is swivellingly (23) mounted in the switch latch (1). The guiding slot of the guiding part (50) extends over part of its length in a substantially parallel direction to the sliding direction of the bracket (31). The leg of the hoop (30) received in the guiding slotted part (50, 51) is received in the ON position in a part (50') of the slot (50) which extends away from the switching toggle (15) and the switching toggle (15) takes together with the hoop (30) an over dead centre position.
