Mobile conductor speed measuring device

The device includes two sensors (4) each placed around a Hopkinson bar (1,1) which flanks a sample (3) being analysed. An elastic deformation wave is generated in one of the bars by a pneumatic hammer (5) and a punch (7). Each sensor includes a coil (G) connected to a processing module (6,6). A ring-shaped permanent magnet is placed around the coil. The elastic waves propagating through the bars generate a variation of the magnetic flux across the coil which in turn generates a voltage (V). This voltage signal is transmitted to the processing module.
