The nozzle consists of an outer envelope (16) with an inner continuous surface (18) defining the shape of the nozzle at its maximum cross-section. It also has surfaces (14) inside the inner surface which co-operate with one another to form the nozzle shape at minimum cross-section and are able to move between the two positions. These surfaces are covered with a skin to prevent leakages between their edges, while the skin tears along the edges when the components move from minimum to maximum nozzle diameter. The moving surfaces (14) are made in the form of fore and aft vanes which are articulated to the outer envelope, with springs between the two which are under tension when the nozzle is at minimum diameter. The vanes are actuated by rods (28) between them and the outer envelope.
