The firefighting vehicle consists of a water tank (2) with a capacity of three cubic metres or more, a motorised pump assembly (10) and a hose (15), mounted on a platform (6) which has two or more parallel transverse members (27, 29) on its under surface (26) to receive the forks of a fork-lift truck which is able to lift and transport the unit. The hose is wound onto a reel (19) with a horizontal axis of rotation (20) which is able to pivot freely about its vertical axis. The platform also has a rigid support (7) for the tank, incorporating a strap (8) situated at the middle of the tank's height and fixed to the platform, and a step to support a person using the pump.
