An original unit collects and filters rainwater from the downpipe. Water entering, passes through several filter sections for separation. It leaves via outlets (7, 8). Water runs spirally down the pipe, encountering a series of rotationally-symmetrical structures. It first passes a coarse filter (2), which narrows conically. Separation occurs, producing prefiltered, and coarsely contaminated water. The water then passes to the guide section (3), widening conically. Its special arrangement of openings changes the flow direction towards the casing wall. The prefiltered water fraction from the guide section (3) passes over the second filter (4) which is finer, but otherwise resembles the first. The finely-filtered water passes via the ring-collector (5) to the side outlet (7). The contaminated water fraction leaves by the lower outlet (8). The upper sections fit in the casing, supported by the rest (6) at the base.
