Dental handpiece with root channel length measuring function

The dental handpiece has a signal circuit providing a measuring signal for a root channel length measuring circuit with a measuring sensor (5), supported by a measuring head (4) at the end of the handpiece. The signal circuit is electrically coupled to a contact piece (6) in the vicinity of the measuring sensor, for providing the electrical connection with the latter. The contact piece may lie in the underside of the measuring head, for rotation about an axis perpendicular to the axial direction of the measuring sensor, to bring it into contact with the latter.
