The device has a holding ring (10) rotatably mounted on each cable plug part. The locking unit has a clamping yoke for fixing to the switching system. The holding ring has peripherally arranged radial tongues (12) and the locking unit has fixed clamp elements (9). The tongues are brought into engagement with the clamp elements by rotating the holding ring. The clamp elements are essentially tangential to the holding ring and have a stop for the tongues.
