Process to produce a recycling raw material from infusorial earth sludge composed of inorganic infusorial earth and solid organic substances adsorbed onto its surface, such as incompletely sedimented yeast or bacteria cells, colloid-dissolved flavourings, melanoidine, protein compounds and bittering agents. These compounds are converted by thermochemical conversion processes into liquid and/or gaseous compounds. The conversion takes place at 350-450 deg C and pressures of 5 MPa in autoclaves under agitation. If necessary, a second stage, catalytic high-pressure hydration at higher temps. (400-450 deg C) and pressures (hydrogen reaction pressure 35 MPa). The converted compounds are then separated from the inorganic carrier material to obtain a regenerated infusorial earth. |
