The present invention relates to disinfecting compositions comprising a peroxygen bleach, a betaine or a sulphobetaine surfactant and an antimicrobial compound selected from the group consisting of antimicrobial essential oils or actives thereof, paraben, glutaraldehyde and mixtures thereof, and to a process for disinfecting surfaces.
