The invention relates to a process for the production of rigid foam mouldings based on polyurethane by combining a polyalcohol component with an isocyanate component in the presence of a blowing agent. The object of the invention is to provide a process for the production of rigid polyurethane foam in which industrial rigid PUR foam scrap can be recycled without high investment costs, allowing a considerable saving of raw materials, saving energy and with reduced usage of chlorofluorocarbons used as physical blowing agent. The object is achieved by a process for the production of rigid foam mouldings based on polyurethane by combining a polyalcohol component with an isocyanate component in the presence of a blowing agent in a mould, which is characterised in that polyurethane material is fed to the reaction mixture forming the rigid foam or the individual reaction components before or during the foam-formation reaction.
