A valve which controls the flow of gas or liquid through a flow line (1) comprises a tubular section (2) which is elastic, and can be pressed together over part of its length. The ends connect to the flow line, and its cross section is similar. A pressure unit (3, 4) continuously squeezes the tubular section (2). Preferably, the pressure unit is actuated by electric current supplied to its electromagnet, which indirectly squeezes the tubular section. The flow permitted through the tube is a function of current. The elastic section is 'Viton' (RTM).
