The filling system (2) is used for a fuel tank battery with at least 2 separate fuel containers (1.1,1.2,1.3) via a filling line (3) coupled to a tanker vehicle, with a tap-off (4.1,4.2,4.3) leading into each fuel container. At least one of the fuel containers has a limit source (6), with each container coupled to the next via an overflow line (7.1,7.2). The overflow lines are used for venting the individual fuel containers, with the final fuel container (1.3) in the series coupled to a vent line (5) and provided with the limit source for cut-out of the fuel feed when the final fuel container reaches the full level.
