<p>An improved slice stacking device for a food slicing machine. The machine has a reciprocating carriage (320) to which an elongated food product workpiece is mounted. The workpiece reciprocates through a cutting blade, forming a slice (382) in each cycle. A stacking bed (352) has a textured surface for uni-directional sliding resistance and is mounted to the carriage (320) beneath the blade. During the rearward motion of the stacking bed, the slice is raked from the stacking bed (352) by a rake having downwardly extending tine or tines positioned above the stacking bed. The tine or tines extend downwardly into a groove or grooves between ridges on the stacking bed when the slice is raked from the stacking bed (352). <IMAGE></p> |
