The invention concerns pyridone dyes of the formula (I) in which X is nitrogen or CH, R1 is a five-membered or six-membered carbocyclic or heterocyclic group, R2 is cyano, carbamoyl, C1-C6 alkoxycarboyl or C1-C4 alkanoyl and R3 is optionally substituted C1-C13 alkyl, optionally substituted phenyl or optionally substituted amino. The invention also concerns a method for the thermal transfer of such dyes as well as a method for dyeing or printing on synthetic materials using the dyes. |
