FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: butt seal of rotating shaft with individual lubrication includes body with rotating seat placed into it put on shaft and sealing blocks arranged on both sides of seat which form vessel for lubricating fluid which is simultaneously shutting fluid. Closed spaces are formed on both sides of seat around shaft which are connected by ducts with lower part of vessel filled with lubricating-shutting fluid up to level of inlet ends of ducts. Rings are installed inside spaces. Device to feed lubricating fluid from lower part of vessel into upper part of friction zone between seat and sealing blocks is put on rotating seat. EFFECT: increased operational reliability and efficiency of butt seal while used in gaseous atmosphere with pressures from 0 up to 0.01 MPa by provision of friction units of sealed rings with sufficient quantity of lubricating fluid with simultaneous exception of outer circulation system for pumping of seal with fluid.
