A controller for a video game console includes releasably interconnected first and second handheld control units 3, 4 having control buttons 32, 42, and means for transmitting signals to the video game console when the control buttons are operated. The releasable interconnection comprises a dovetail section groove and projection 33, 43 and a convex projection 34 which is received in a recess 44. The transmission means includes cables C1, C2 connected, in use, to the console. Other releasable interconnections are disclosed, and the transmission means may alternatively include wireless radio transmitters and a receiver or infrared transmitters (93, fig.6) and a receiver (91). The control units may be back-to-back and connected by a joining member 50C. |
