<p>PURPOSE:To allow the use of a general purpose laser light source by providing a laser light source, a polarizing means, means for imparting a phase difference corresponding to the applying voltage between polarized components of incident light, means for imparting a phase difference between polarized components, a light detecting means, and means for converting the incident light into an electric signal and locating the phase difference imparting means within a temperature measuring region. CONSTITUTION:Light emitted from a laser light source 11 is made parallel through a first lens 17a and passed through a polarizer 12, a Pockels element 13, a wavelength plate 14, and an analyzer 15 thence condensed through a second lens 17b and impinges on a photodiode 16. In this regard, an incident light is linearly polarized by the polarizer 12 and the phase difference of applying voltage is imparted between polarized components by the Pockels element 13 and a phase difference is further imparted by the wavelength plate 14. The analyzer 15 modulates the light with an intensity corresponding to the applying voltage while the diode 16 converts the light into an electric signal and a processing circuit 18 determines a signal AC intensity. The signal AC intensity varies with temperature and the temperature in the temperature measuring region is determined based on the variation of the signal AC intensity.</p> |
