PURPOSE:To obtain the title yarn having surface metallic layer not peeling by extruding a solution having dissolved a polymer and a metallic complex or metallic salt into a coagulant of the polymer in a fibrous state and reducing the metallic complex or metallic salt in the coagulated yarn. CONSTITUTION:A solution having dissolved a polymer and a metallic complex or a metallic salt in a common solvent C is extruded in a fibrous state into a coagulating bath 1 charged with a solvent D (coagulant of polymer) miscible with the common solvent C of the polymer and the metallic complex or metallic salt. Coagulated yarn is optionally dried and/or drawn and then the metallic complex or metallic salt existing in the surface layer of the yarn is reduced with a solution 10 of reducing agent in a reducing bath 7 to give surface metallized yarn.
