An oxidised wax based on polyethylene or other raw materials which is reacted with a metal selected from group IB, IIB, IIA, IIIA, IIIB, VIB, VIIB and VIIIB of the Periodic Table of the Elements to give the salt, acts as a photoactivating agent in a polymer moulding composition, which it degrades. The amount of additive can vary from 0.1 to 2.0 % by weight, based on the weight of the composition. The additive can be added directly or, better, via a masterbatch. |
