<p>The filter comprises an upright tubular housing (1) with a removable lid (6) at the top, an inlet (8) in the side wall and a central outlet (9) in the bottom end wall, and enclosing a replaceable tubular filter cartridge (2) with an annular end cap (17) pressed axially into sealing engagement round the outlet (9) by an annular spring (22). The spring (22) is attached to the lid (6), and as well as bearing axially on the cartridge it includes at least three resilient fingers (27) which extend axially of and grip the exterior of the cartridge (2), to facilitate its insertion into the housing as the lid is being screwed to the housing but allowing the cartridge to be detached from the lid so that the cartridge can be replaced.</p> |
