PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a shadow of an invalid part from being displayed on an image by preventing light transmitting through plural display bodies from being made incident on the invalid part of a wavelength synthetic element. SOLUTION: The light from a light source part is light divided to the light of respective wavelength components of R, G, B by first, second dichroic mirrors, and the light of respective divided wavelength components are made incident on liquid crystal display panels 7-9 answering to respective wavelengths respectively, and when the light of respective wavelength components transmitting through respective liquid crystal panels 7-9 are synthesized by a dichroic prism 10, the light of respective wavelength components transmitting through respective central parts of respective liquid crystal display panels 7-9 are reflected by prism lens elements 20 provided on the outgoing surfaces of respective liquid crystal display panels 7-9 to be made incident on out of the crossing part D of the dichroic prism 10. Thus, the light of respective wavelength components aren't made incident on the invalid part being the crossing part D of the dichroic prism 10, and the invalid part of the dichroic prism 10 is prevented from being displayed on the image as the shadow. |
