<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor a necessary target object alone by performing a scanning turning a radar apparatus horizontally to alter increase or decrease value of certainty in a certainty adjusting means based on the angle of the scanning when the target object is detected. SOLUTION: A certainty calculation means M2 calculates certainty showing the sureness of the degree of the existence of the target object based on the detection state and the previous detection state of the target object detected by a radar device M1 for monitoring ahead of a vehicle. A certainty adjusting means M3 adjusts increase or increase in the certainty according to the detection state of the target object. A scanning means M4 performs a scanning horizontally turning the device M1 and an increase/decrease altering means M5 alters the value of increase or decrease in the adjusting means M3 based on the angle of scanning when detecting the target object. Thus, depending on where the target object exists, for example, on the running lane of own vehicle or on another lane, the increase or decrease value of the certainty can be altered thereby enabling centralized monitoring of the target object with higher certainty of thereof on the running lane of the own vehicle.</p> |
