PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide bloodstream information at any specified depth by canceling position deviation caused by a burst wave by delaying a range gate to be loaded to a Doppler signal just for the 1/2 burst length of the burst wave at the timing corresponding to the specified depth. SOLUTION: Sample volume is set at any desired position on a tomographic image by operating a track ball 33 and the position information is supplied from a CPU 31 to a gate controller 37. The gate controller 37 controls a range gate integration circuit 21 and loads the range gate at the timing corresponding to the depth of the sample volume. The timing to load the range gate is set while being delayed from an original just for the time of C/2 as the half of a burst length C of the burst wave at the timing corresponding to the depth of the sample volume. Therefore, the position deviation caused by the burst length (time width) of the burst wave is canceled and the bloodstream information concerning the specified depth setting the sample volume can be provided.
