PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a durable, lightweight radar lens antenna which is suitable for the setting of a missile, and makes a fast scanning and has an unlimited range of consideration. SOLUTION: A radar lens 14 is formed of a conventional Fresnel lens 10, but a stepwise similar body in, preferably, three stages substitutes for a conventional curved surface. The thickness of the stepwise lens 14 of each step is a half or plural halves as large as the radar operation frequency at a halfway position of the lens 14. This lens 14 is thin enough (therefore lightweight enough) to quickly move laterally by, preferably, a combination of cams 42 and 52 and springs 44 and 54. Consequently, an extremely fast scanning can be made only in a limited visual field. When the lens 14 and feed horns 46, 48, and 50 are all supported by gimbals, the scanning becomes slow, but the range of consideration is unlimited.
|
