PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reciprocation type compressor to reduce the generation of noise and vibration through reduction of a rotation n-th component of a torque fluctuation corresponding to the number of cylinder. SOLUTION: Cylinder bores 33-1-33-5 are formed facing a pair of cylinder blocks and a double end cylinder is contained in the cylinder bores 33-1-33-5 to partition a compression chamber. By shaving off the head part of the double end piston by a given length, the dead volume of the compression chamber in each of the cylinder bores 33-1-33-5 is varied. The dead volumes of the compression chambers on both sides of one double end piston are set to the same as each other. At least one of suction valves 29a-1-29a-5 and delivery valves 31a-1-31a-5 are formed such that rigidity is increased with the increase of the dead volume of the compression chamber.
