PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method of a silver halide photographic photosensitive material in a roller-carrying type automatic developing machine equipped with a drying device which uses heat rollers and/or IR radiation, and to provide a treating method showing excellent cleaning property and drying property without causing uneven drying. SOLUTION: In the treating method of a silver halide photographic sensitive material in a roller-carrying type automatic developing machine equipped with a drying device which uses heat rollers and/or IR radiation, the temp. of the cleaning water is controlled to 30 to 50 deg.C, and the treatment is performed under such condition expressed by I<0.75>×t=20 to 40 (0.7<I<4.0). In the formula, I is the length (m) of the carrying passage from the core of the first roller near the insertion entrance of a film in the automatic developing machine to the core of the last roller in the film drying zone, and t is the time (sec) for the film to pass through the passage I.
