PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the reduction in a desalting efficiency with a desalting agent. SOLUTION: This thermal decomposition of waste plastics is to melt and decompose the waste plastics containing a polyvinyl chloride and desalting the generated thermally decomposed gas by a slacked lime 2, then cooling and condensing the thermally decomposed gas for recovering the condensate as a thermally decomposed oil. Before desalting the thermally decomposed gas by the slacked lime 2, the thermally decomposed gas is passed through an adsorbent 6 consisting of at least one kind of a silica.alumina, a zeolite, an activated carbon or an activated clay.
