<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which is an image forming device, such as copying machine, printer or facsimile, utilizing an electrophotographic system and makes it possible to obtain high-grade images capable of exhibiting the characteristics of very small grain size toners and the excellent characteristics of a contactless development system by minimizing the influence of air resistance at the time of flying of the toners even if the very small grain size toners are used. SOLUTION: This image forming device has a latent image carrying member holding an electrostatic latent image, a developing device for visualizing the electrostatic latent image, the toners having <=4μm volumetric average grain size as the developer to be used for the developing device and a developing bias power source for forming a developing electric field in a developing region. The device described above is so formed that the dynamic shape coefft. of the toners attains <=1.1 and that the Reynolds number in the toner flying process by the developing electric field attains <=1.5.</p> |
