PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-sensitive transfer recording material and a heat- sensitive transfer recording method with the recording material for obtaining an image excellent in image preserving properties such as fixing properties, light resistance or the like. SOLUTION: This heat-sensitive transfer recording material contains coloring matter represented by the formula, in which X1 is a group forming a coloring matter through a conjugated system, Y1 is a group of atoms forming a five- membered or six-membered nitrogen-containing hyterocycle, R<1> , R<2> and R<3> are hydrogen atom, halogen atom or univalent substituent and (n) is the integers from 0 through 2. By heating the heat-sensitive transfer recording material in response to image information under the condition that an image receiving material is piled up on the heat-sensitive transfer recording material, an image by the chelate coloring matter formed through the reaction between the coloring matter represented by the formula and the metal ion-containing compound containing in the heat-sensitive transfer recording material or the image receiving material is obtained. |
