<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new protein located in postsynaptic thickening region of a neurocyte, containing RING-H2 finger motif, suppressing expression by nerve damage and used for research, etc., of the relationship between memory and learning and Alzheimer's disease, etc. SOLUTION: This new protein contains an amino acid sequence from the 1<st> Met to 707<th> Pro of an amino acid sequence represented by the formula or a sequence similar to the amino acid sequence and can be located in postsynaptic thickening region of a neurocyte and contains RING-H2 finger motif and the expression is suppressed by damage of nerve and the protein is useful for researches, e.g. having a connection with remembrance, learning and develop stage related to synapse and neurodegeneration state, etc., of ischemia, epilepsy, Alzheimer's disease, etc. The protein is obtained by extracting RNA from brain tissue of a rat, building cDNA library by ordinary method, screening the library with a brobe, integrating the resultant DNA into a vector and expressing the DNA in a host cell.</p> |
