PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound having excellent testosterone-5α-reductase inhibiting action and useful for prevention and curing of prostatomegaly. SOLUTION: The objective compound k4610422 is expressed by the formula and has following properties; character: white powder; molecular formula: C19 H26 O2 ; molecular weight: 286; solubility: soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, dimethyl sulfoxide, benzene, chloroform, diethyl ether and ethyl acetate, insoluble in water; color reaction: positive to sulfuric acid and iodo. The compound of the formula is obtained by culturing a k4610422 producing bacterium, e.g. Streptosporangium sp. SANK62195 stock belonging to genus Streptosporangium by a shake-culturing, etc., in a medium of pH5-8 under an aerobic condition, extracting by using an organic solvent and purifying. A testosterone-5α-reductase inhibitor is prepared by containing the compound of the formula as an active component, and an administrating amount of the inhibitor is 1-2,000mg per 1 day for an adult in a case of oral administration and 0.1-400mg in a case of intravenous administration. |
